British Airways | Changes to quarantine requirements for EU and US citizens entering England

Importante

Dear Partner,

The UK Government has today announced that as of 0400 BST August 2nd, EU and US residents arriving from an ‘Amber’ list destination to England will no longer need to self-isolate if they have been fully vaccinated with vaccines authorised by the EMA in Europe and FDA in the USA. Travellers must have been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days prior to arrival and will no longer be required to take a ‘day 8’ COVID-19 arrival test. Those vaccinated in the US must provide proof of US residency.

Passengers from all countries must continue to complete a passenger locator form prior to departure, and take a pre-departure COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their departure. A ‘day 2’ arrival PCR test is also still required.

In response to today’s announcement, British Airways’ CEO and Chairman, Sean Doyle said:

“Our own trials have proved it’s quick and easy to check travellers are fully vaccinated and can safely enter the UK, and this step will allow us to reunite loved ones and get Global Britain back in business, giving the economy the vital boost it so badly needs.

“With the UK’s Covid cases falling while vaccinations continue to rise, now is the time for the Government to help secure the re-opening of the crucial UK-US travel corridor, move more low-risk Amber countries to the Green list to allow customers to book with confidence and to review the current expensive testing requirements that are out of step with our neighbours.”

We continue to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all our passengers and colleagues, with protective measures continuing on the ground and in the air. You can read more about these on ba.com. Additionally, our flexible booking policy (‘Book with confidence’ & Flexibility for existing bookings) remains in place should a passenger need to change their travel dates, destination or cancel without any additional fees.

Thank you for your continued partnership, British Airways
