Note for passengers with a  booked travel date between May 1st and May 31st, 2020:

A transfer/rebooking is only possible until April 15th, 2022. After that, any unused or partially used tickets can be refunded in accordance with the fare conditions. This applies to tickets that have been put on hold on a voluntary basis.

Please note: The  date of issue of the ticket  always refers to the current ticket, which means:

  1. If the ticket has not yet been rewritten: Date of the original ticket issue
     
  2. If the ticket has already been changed: Date of the change

The goodwill rule (TWP 2107 or TWP 2202 ) at a glance:

Passengers

  1. with an unused or partially used OS/LH/LX/SN/EN ticket (257/220/724/082/101) with an  issue date up to and including July 31, 2021, and
     
  2. with a  booked travel date between April 1, 2020 / May 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021, and
     
  3. with a booked Austrian Airlines/Brussels Airlines/Eurowings/Lufthansa/SWISS/ Edelweiss/Germanwings/Air Dolomiti/Eurowings Discover flight number (operated by OS/SN/EW/LH/LX/WK/4U/EN/4Y) worldwide,  or
     
  4. with a flight operated by another airline (OAL) with OS/LH/LX/WK/SN/EW/4U/EN/4Y flight number (“Codeshare”) worldwide

can rebook according to the rules below.

For travelers planning to travel after September 1, 2021, you can make voluntary rebookings based on the fare conditions – regardless of the ticket issue date.

Part A “INVOLUNTARY” – Lufthansa Group rules for rebookings/transfers of canceled flights:

Option 1: One-time rebooking/transfer without changing the start and destination of the trip based on the SKCHG/INVOL Policy

In general, for  passengers of canceled flights always able to make rebookings/changes in accordance with the policy on handling flight schedule changes and flight irregularities  .

  1. Original route, ie the start and destination of the journey must remain unchanged
     
  2. The rebooking/transfer can be made at any time (but within the validity of the ticket). In the system, tickets for the Lufthansa Group airlines can be called up up to 720 days after the last travel date entered in the ticket. After that, rewriting is no longer possible.
     
  3. New start of travel: no restrictions
     
  4. In the case of partially used tickets, the maximum tariff and ticket validity can be extended once.
     
  5. All further details can be found in the  OS/SN/LH/LX SKCHG/INVOL Policy  or the  EN INVOL Rules .

Option 2: One-off rebooking/re-registration with a change in the start and/or destination of the trip and/or expired ticket validity based on the goodwill rule (TWP 2107 or TWP 2202 )

  1. The rebooking/transfer must be made by March 15, 2022 / April 30, 2022
     
  2. New start of travel by December 31, 2022 at the latest
     
  3. There is no rebooking fee
     
  4. The start and destination of the journey can be changed (exception: domestic German tickets may not be converted into international tickets and vice versa)
     
  5. Every fare in every travel class – the fare must be repriced. possibly an additional payment is required, for example on the new route, booking class or season.
     
  6. For tickets with an originally booked flight between April 1, 2020 / May 1, 2020 and March 15, 2021 / April 30, 2021 , the maximum fare and ticket validity can be extended to March 15, 2022 / April 30, 2022 .
     
  7. If a route change after a canceled flight results in a lower new ticket price, the passenger is entitled to a refund of the difference (residual value). If you have any questions, please contact your Lufthansa Group Agency Support.
     
  8. Change of traveler (“name change”) is not permitted
     
  9. Please note that it is necessary to remove existing (future) flight segments from the PNR in good time to avoid no-shows.
     
  10. The conditions of the new tariff apply
     
  11. EMDs associated with the existing ticket remain valid.
     
  12. For paraphrases, the endorsement entry is:  TWP2107 / TWP2202

Part B “VOLUNTARY” – goodwill rule for rebookings/changes of non-cancelled flights:

A rebooking/change up to and including March 15, 2022 / April 30, 2022 on the basis of the goodwill rule (TWP 2107 / TWP 2202 ) – for travel start up to December 31, 2022

  1. The rebooking/transfer must be made by March 15, 2022 / April 30, 2022
     
  2. New start of travel by December 31, 2022 at the latest
     
  3. There is no rebooking fee
     
  4. The start and destination of the trip can be changed (exception: domestic German tickets may not be converted into international tickets and vice versa)
     
  5. Every fare in every travel class – the fare must be repriced. possibly an additional payment is required, for example on the new route, booking class or season.
     
  6. In the case of transfers, the non-refundable part of the original ticket remains non-refundable.
     
  7. Please note that it is necessary to remove existing (future) flight segments from the PNR in good time to avoid no-shows.
     
  8. For tickets with an originally booked flight between April 1, 2020 / May 1, 2020 and March 15, 2021 / April 30, 2021 , the maximum fare and ticket validity can be extended to March 15, 2022 / April 30, 2022 .
     
  9. In the case of paraphrases, the endorsement entry is:  TWP2107 / TWP2202

You can make all  rebookings/  changes on the basis of these goodwill rules (TWP 2107 or TWP 2202 )  yourself without requesting approval (waiver)  from your Lufthansa Group Agency Support.

Ticket refunds:
For customers who do not want to rebook, you can refund tickets yourself – according to the fare conditions or, in the case of canceled flights, on the basis of the  SKCHG/INVOL Policy (OS/SN/LH/LX)  or  EN INVOL Rules  .

General information on rebooking flexibility

  1. Passengers who are affected by a flight cancellation can rebook/rebook at any time based on the  OS/SN/LH/LX SKCHG/INVOL Policy  or  EN INVOL Rules , provided the start and destination of the trip remains unchanged.
     
  2. The date of issue of the ticket always refers to the current ticket. If the ticket has not yet been reissued, this is the date of the original ticket issue. If the ticket has already been changed, the date of issue is the date of the change.
     

The goodwill rules (TWP 2107 / TWP 2202 ) can be applied again for tickets that have been reissued according to the fare conditions, on an involuntary basis (involuntary) or based on a previous goodwill rule up to and including July 31, 2021.
